San Gimignano and Siena

Two of the most impressive cities in Tuscany, they are UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

San Gimignano

With its towers built between 1200 and 1300, San Gimignano boasts the nickname ”Manhattan of middle ages.” Get ready to transport yourself back in time, strolling between the towers and discovering palaces and churches that have remained unchanged for more than 800 years. After a morning of exploring San Gimignano, you’ll have worked up an appetite for a delectable locally sourced lunch, and a thirst for the superb Vernaccia wine, a specialty of the area.

Siena

Famous for its Piazza del Campo, which is home to the tower named Torre del Mangia and Palio, the bi-annual horse race, Siena is one of the most beautiful medieval cities. You’ll love getting lost in its streets and discovering the shops full of local artisanal items. You’ll be sure to find the perfect keepsake to bring home with you as a reminder of your wonderful day spent in Siena.

Pisa and Lucca

Pisa

Visit the infamous Leaning Tower of Pisa and enjoy the 360-degree views of the city from the top of the tower. Situated in Miracoli’s Square, the Tower of Pisa isn’t the only site to see, as you continue to explore the square, you’ll discover the Cathedral and Baptistery as well as the Campo Santo, also known as the Monumental Cemetery.

Lucca

Lucca is a walled-city full of ancient history: From the Piazza dell'Anfiteatro, you can see the shape of the former Roman amphitheater that in ancient times was used for gladiator games. As you explore the city, you’ll see various towers, climb the Guinigi Tower to discover the rooftop garden and take in the gorgeous views of the city. Stroll by the churches of San Michele, San Frediano and the Cathedral. Extraordinarily, the walls (4200m long) that surround the historic city center are still intact. For centuries, the top of the wall was used as military defense, but today it is a beautiful pedestrian promenade.
